Samir Mahmalat completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from TU-Dortmund in Germany 2012 and received his master’s degree from TU-Dortmund with honors in 2014. Bachelor as well as master thesis were written while studying at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, and dealt with algorithmic approaches to the graph isomorphism problem. During his studies he was awarded with scholarships from the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst ) and the JASSO (Japan Student Service Organization). As research assistant he worked for the chairs for algorithm engineering as well as for the chair for graphical systems at TU-Dortmund. Furthermore, he took part in a project collaborating with the Frauenhofer IML to work on automatized unloading of autonomous transport systems in a logistics context.
